Hi everyone,
First, my apologies for making you wait for this gem of a story from Ann
Smith, stalwart of RATS and of St. John the Baptist church in Ruyton XI
Towns.
In some ways the Second World War seems a thousand miles away but on the
other hand, to due to the obsessive nostalgia `industry`, it is forever
on our doorstep.
However, Ann`s story takes us back to the real thing and how even little
children were swept up in the victory celebrations.
The next Local History Blog will take us back to the 19th century - I
never said the story would be told in chronological order!
