Offa`s Byke Bash - Cycling Fundraiser

Message from Paula Woosnam, Weston Lullingfields school.

Offa's Byke Bash' – Cycling Fundraiser Update

'Offa's Byke Bash' has really started to pick up momentum in recent weeks, with the first few riders entering via our British Cycling webpage.  For those of you who are not familiar with the event a 'Cycle Sportive' will be taking place on Sunday the 10th of September 2017. It will start at Weston Lullingfields Village Hall, with entrants riding either a 40km or 90km route, with food and drink stops provided at Melverley Village Hall and out on the course. There will also be a 10km family ride to allow younger riders to take part. We are aiming for at least 100 entrants, so hope that it will be high profile and something we can repeat annually.  This is an official event, set up in conjunction with British Cycling so will be publicised to a wide audience. The event can be viewed on British Cycling's Web site at www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/161004/Offa-s-Byke-Bash
or via our Facebook Page https://m.facebook.com/offasbykebash/Alternatively just google 'Offa's Byke Bash' and these pages should appear at the top of the list.

Thus far we have attracted sponsorship from Holters Estate Agents and Go Outdoors, the latter providing all energy drinks and also present on the day to give out goodie bags and prizes. Our aim is to attract enough sponsorship to cover all costs so profit from rider entry fees is maximised.  Sponsorship options range from £25 to £250 so we would ask if anyone knows of a local company likely to be interested in supporting the event they are to get in touch with Matt Jones (Event Organiser).  Our main sponsors will have their name/logo printed on an event T-Shirt going out to the first 50 entrants.

We are also asking for support in the build up to the event and on the day itself.  We will be asking if the school community can donate cakes or other such energy foods (such as flapjack) and assist us by manning food and drink stations en-route.  Volunteers to help register and Marshall riders are also very welcome.  We hope this is something you are keen to support, either by helping  us on the day or by taking part in a ride.  If you wish to get involved or have any queries please contact Matt on 07771527410 or by email at mbjones@slrconsulting.com

Many thanks
