From Montgomery, Daniel studied portraiture in Florence where he learned the principles and techniques of classical drawing and painting. He paints commissions directly from life and has work in collections throughout Europe and Asia. Daniel will be at the Gallery on Saturday September 23 from 12.30 onwards to give an informal talk about his artistic journey and his work. He warmly welcomes people to come and share his enthusiasm for his subjects - both portraiture and landscapes. | | PORTRAIT UNVEILED Daniel's life-size portrait, Dystonia & Me; The Renaissance of Self, is being sold to raise money for neurological research. The painting reflects one man's journey after being diagnosed with dystonia (a disorder of muscle control), the therapeutic power he found in writing and keeping a journal - and the art therapy that eventually led him to Daniel's studio where he became the inspiration for this painting. PHOTO RIGHT: The Sitter drew Daniel in his journal as Daniel painted his portrait | | | BRAVING THE ELEMENTS Also on display is Daniel's latest portrait commission, Jonathan Herbert, Viscount of Powys, together with some of his latest plein-air oil paintings out and about in Wales - very different to painting indoors.
