Christmas events in Oswestry

OSWESTRY ARTISAN MARKET                                                                                                                                      The Christmas Artisan Market on the 22nd December in Bailey Street and the Bailey Head.  There will be lots of interested quality produce on sale.  In the new year we also intend to continue the Saturday Street market which has been going really well with plenty of positive feedback.  And finally the indoor Market will be open the whole week before Christmas from the 18th to the 23rd so plenty of opportunities to buy your fresh fish and meats and pies and cakes etc.

Bar, plenty of off-road parking and raked seating. There's a spacious auditorium with a good sound system. 

This year's show includes:

 john croft, former chairman of the Ukulele Society of Great Britain, returns with his instrument.

effervescent Harriet Rose, Jay Morrison-Little and Laura Powell: a young trio who play their own compositions and covers, and are influenced by Americana, blues, indie-rock and acoustic singer-songwriters.

john neilson & martin hugill John, (accordion, bouzouki and vocals) is joined by fine singer and mandolin & cittern player Martin Hugill from near Shrewsbury.

tom browne is a strong singer and deft guitarist from Newcastle-upon-Tyne who now lives in the Oswestry area.

peter cartlidge and cathy andrew Peter, from Ellesmere, is well known as the front man of Five Speed Box and The Ukey Monster. He is joined by splendid singer Cathy.

And, as usual, those well-known local celebrities santa and mrs santa will be making one or two appearances.

Due to popular demand the Bywater Cruises Horsedrawn Boat Trips from Maesbury Marsh will be available for bookings throughout the Winter months (weather permitting).
