"Fantasia on a British theme" runs from this Tuesday 15 May until Sunday 20 and features fifteen British composers in six excitingly diverse concerts. The Elias Quartet (right) are already in residence, rehearsing with eleven other international artists, ready to offer the world-class performances we have come to expect from the Whittington Music Festival. Tickets have sold well for all concerts, but there are still a few numbered seats in the centre block which you can select yourself online. You should be able to buy tickets on the door for unreserved seats, but to be on the safe side get them at Rowanthorn in Oswestry or Whittington Post Office. And remember, if you are aged 8-25, you get in free! There's a free organ recital in St Oswald's church in Oswestry on Thursday at 1pm and a film at Kinokulture at 1:30 the following day. The festival website has full details of the week's programme, and I very much hope to see you at some of the concerts in Whittington church. They will all be wonderful. Rob Greaves, Chairman | |
