April showers bring May flowers ... as the old saying goes.  Admire some beautiful May flowers in a National Garden Scheme garden in Shropshire in the coming week and help support those in need.  Thank you to those who visited Brownhill House last week and enjoyed a lovely sunny afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking this garden that defies gravity!  There is a new NGS garden to explore this coming week: the lovely Kinton Grove.

NEW to the National Garden Scheme in Shropshire this year is Kinton Grove, Kinton, near Nesscliffe, open on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May (1-5pm) this delightful garden is packed full of lovely spring plants and a wide range of trees with far-reaching views to the Welsh Hills.
Open on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May (1.30-5pm) is Upper Shelderton House, Shelderton, nr Clungunford in the south of the county.  Masses of beautifully coloured rhododendrons and azaleas accompanied by a vast array of trees and delightful water features.
One of Shropshire National Garden Scheme visitors favourite places to visit is Delbury Hall Walled Garden, home of Mynd Hardy Plants.  Open on Sunday 12th May (11-5), visitors not only have the opportunity to enjoy the spring planting in the walled garden but also to stroll the grounds of Delbury Hall itself.
One of Shropshire's magnificent estates, Oteley, overlooking the Mere at Ellesmere is open for National Garden Scheme visitors on Sunday 12th May (2-5pm). 10 acres of rhododendrons & azaleas, fine specimen trees and woodland walks for all the family to enjoy plus a unique view across the Mere to admire.
 
Arrange to visit a Shropshire garden as part of the National Garden Scheme: from friends, garden groups, art groups, cycling groups, car groups, knitting groups: all are welcome.  Just contact the owner to arrange a date.
