As well as their own finely-crafted original compositions, Zoë and husband Andy perform innovative arrangements of some well-loved jazz and pop classics.  Starts: 8pm  Tickets: £12 (children £6)  PAINTING WITH WORDS / THE SEA, THE SEA, FOREVER RESTARTING  Until 11 May  This has been an inspiring exhibition showcasing a wide range of talent and range of media - from oils, acrylic, watercolour and ceramic to printmaking, metal, stitch and collage. 'EARTH, AIR, FIRE & WATER'  6 July - 24 Aug  An important exhibition raising awareness of environmental issues through art and the damage that consumer culture is causing to the natural world.    AUTUMN EXHIBITION  31 Aug - 19 Oct  There will be new works exhibited in various media, and we welcome the opportunity to promote young as well as more established artists. Alison draws upon the natural world to create her finely-stitched pieces, working directly onto painted silk and, like a painter, creating colour, depth and texture.    Alison teaches and lectures in the UK and abroad, and has published a number of machine embroidery books. COMICS SALOPIA 2019  Shrewsbury, 1 & 2 June  The international free-entry festival will be taking place over the entire town, celebrating the art of comics in all its forms with some of the biggest names in comic art attending. Venues include Castle Grounds, Dana Prison, Guild Hall, the Town Square and Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery which is hosting an exhibition by local superstar-artist Charlie Adlard of Walking Dead fame. After glazing and firing, your birds are mounted on a wooden base. Reports one student: 'A brilliant workshop - inspiring and encouraging'.    Local artist Lynn Lewis's work is created in mixed media. She is mainly influenced by colour, texture and nature. RIGHT: Birches (print)  A former car showroom, the gallery was founded by local craftsman Peter Vidal and opened in 2012 to promote contemporary art. A not-for-profit community interest company, the gallery supports established and emerging artists (particularly local talent) working across many disciplines. As well as regularly-changing exhibitions, we run artist-led workshops and courses, and host a programme of events, including live music, craft fairs, special exhibits, craft demonstrations and talks. Our artists-in-residence enjoy engaging with the public and are keen to share their knowledge and passion. Room hire is also available, and our on-site Eatery is a lovely place for just coffee and a cake or for a full meal - and perfect for a get-together with friends.
