The project took root in 2011, and today the orchard is planted with traditional fruit trees containing a mosaic of habitats for wildlife. Along with adjacent woodland, it also provides a green recreational space as well as educational and training opportunities. At harvest, some of the fruit is sold to provide funds for maintenance. Visiting from their home town of Toulouse, flautists Fabien, HÚlÞne and Marie-Emilie and guitarist Bertrand played with great freshness and skill, and we felt very privileged to have them perform at our gallery. We wish this innovative young band well and hope they continue to foster and perform such interesting music in the future.
