Tree planting opportunity

Dear Blogger

Message forwarded by Sue & Steve Boulding, Baschurch.

Tree planting may be of interest to you, especially if you are a member of the Cliffe Crewe.

The Environment Agency is funding the purchase and planting of around 2000 trees of 40 different species on parts of Monkmoor River Ground. The aim is to create a mix of open grassland, scrub, hedges, woodland and park trees on an area of council owned riverbank. We are looking to plant these trees in the new year, over January and February. This is a great chance to get people involved with a conservation effort that should be visible for generations. We can provide gloves, tools, etc. You just need warm clothes and food/drink if needed.

At the moment I am looking at the following potential volunteer days:

Wednesday 15th January

Sunday 19th January

Sunday 26th January

Wednesday 29th January

Sunday 2nd February

Wednesday 5th February

Wednesday 19th February

Sunday 23rd February

If you could let me know any of these which suits yourself/group and I will allocate you to certain days.

Roughly how many people if it is a group

What time you/they are available between 9:00 and 15:00

I donÆt like being too formal about it, but I do want to avoid everyone turning up at the same day and then having no help for other days!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks, and hope to see you there!
