Understanding Roman Shropshire and its society.
Roger White, Senior Lecturer in Archaeology, University of Birmingham.
In this lecture, we will examine the archaeological evidence for the occupation and settlement of Shropshire during the four-hundred year period of Roman rule. Based on recently excavated sites and finds from the county we will trace the way that native society changed and came under the influence of the Roman Empire.
