Message from the Attfield Theatre, Oswestry.
Founded in 1928 by G.W.Attfield, The Attfield Theatre Company is a small but vibrant amateur dramatic society based in Oswestry in North Shropshire. We host our plays in our own 97 seat theatre within Oswestry's Guildhall an imposing 19th Century building dominating the skyline of the town - next to the Bailey Head market hall.
We perform comedies, dramas and musicals four or five times a year with the new season starting in September of each year.
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter Weekend! Rehearsals are well underway for the Attfield's next production: | |
16th - 21st May at 7:45pm. Directed by Kath Evans. This classic comedy is set on the cobbles of Lancashire in 1880. It is centred around Hobson's Boot Shop, owned by the overbearing Henry Hobson and run by his three daughters. When the eldest and headstrong daughter Maggie decides to take matters into her own hands and arrange marriages for her and her sisters, this starts off a series of events that eventually sees Henry Hobson in a corner and faced with no choice at all for his future - Hobson's Choice.
