RUYTON XI TOWNS PARISH COUNCIL NEWSLETTER UPDATE
Second casual vacancy: Electors have until 06.05.2022 to request a by-election
A second casual vacancy has arisen in Ruyton XI Towns, following the resignation of Cllr Andrew Collier on April 12th. Local electors have 14 days (excl. weekends and bank holidays) to ask Shropshire Council to hold a by-election. The deadline for this is Fri 6th May 2022. If fewer than 10 electors have requested a by-election by the above date, then the Parish Council can choose to co-opt someone to fill the vacant seat. Please see Casual Vacancy notice below for more info.
Andrew will be greatly missed on the Council for his can-do attitude and cheery personality, as well as for his wealth of experience and knowledge in planning and architectural matters. He was also very closely involved in the CIL road safety project and an active participant in Safer Roads Group and Village Hall Working Group meetings as well.
First vacancy now eligible to be filled by co-option
No by-election was called during the 14-day notice period for the casual vacancy following Cllr David Shearan's resignation, so the Parish Council is now able to co-opt to fill this vacant seat.
Help make life better for your community.
This friendly, active, and enthusiastic Council is now encouraging applications for this vacant seat, and the deadline is 12 noon on Friday 6th May 2022. Please see co-option notice and application form below for more information, and please feel free to contact the Chairman or clerk if you would like to know more about what might be involved.
