Brownhill House & other gardens open this month for the NGS

Spring is well under way, gardens are filling with colour and it's time to get out and about We have two gardens open next weekend:
BROWNHILL HOUSE Ruyton XI Towns, SY4 1LR. 9m NW of Shrewsbury on the B4397 Open Saturday 23rd April 10 am to 6.30 pm. £5 for adults. A unique 2 acre hillside garden with many steps and levels bordering the River Perry. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of plants and styles from formal terraces to woodland paths. The lower areas are for the sure-footed and mobile while the upper levels, with a large kitchen garden and glasshouses, have many places to sit and enjoy the views. With over 450 different varieties of shrub and trees, a labernum walk, a folly or two, many hundreds of wild and cultivated herbaceous plants, some 15 types of fruit and nuts and a partially walled vegetable garden, there is much to enjoy. Pre-booking is essential for this garden. Refreshments available.
WESTWOOD HOUSE Oldbury, Bridgnorth, WV16 5LP. Take the Ludlow Road B4364 out of Bridgnorth, past the Punch Bowl Inn, turn 1irst left, Westwood House signed on right. Open Sunday 24th April 2 - 5 pm. £5 adults. A country garden, well designed and planted around the house, particularly known for its tulips. Sweeping lawns offset by deeply planted mixed borders; pool garden and lawn tennis court; productive kitchen and cutting garden, with everything designed to attract wildlife for organic growth. Far reaching views of this delightful corner of the county and woodland walks to enjoy. Reasonable wheelchair access around the house but gravel paths and some steps. Home-made teas sold in aid of St. Nicholas Church Oldbury

MILLICHOPE PARK, Munslow SY7 9HA. 8m NE of Craven Arms. 1 - 6 pm Historic landscape gardens overing 14 acres with lakes, cascades, woodland walks and wildflowers
RUTHALL MANOR, Ditton Priors, WV16 6TN.7m SW of Bridgnorth. 12.30 - 5 pm Also open on Monday 2nd May Offset by a mature collection of specimen trees, the garden is divided into intimate sections, linked by winding paths. Striking borders, gravel art garden and ha-ha.
THE BRAMLEYS, Condover, Shrewsbury SY5 7BH From Condover towards Dorrington. Pass junction by village hall, follow road across the bridge, look for NGS signs. 11 am - 5 pm 2 acre country garden with a variety of trees and shrubs, herbaceous borders and woodland.
On Sunday 8th May, two more gardens will be opening: Henley Hall, Ludlow and the ever-popular Oteley in Ellesmere
The Queen's Nursing Institute is a registered charity dedicated to improving the nursing care of people in their own homes and communities.
