AN EVENING WITH OSWESTRY SPORTING LEGENDS.
Actually, Matt Walker is from West Felton and went to Corbett so apologies. Oswestry Sports Forum is inducting Matt Walker from West Felton into the Oswestry Sporting Hall of Fame (which has been curated since inception by Hazel Yates). Matt won the Downhill Mountain bike World Cup Series in 2020 and is doing exceptionally well in the competition this year too.
We are also inducting Graham Williams, who captained West Brom to win the FA Cup in 1968. Unfortunately, Graham has had to withdraw at the last minute due to a funeral. Our guest speaker is Ian Davies who rowed across the Atlantic in 2019 with the Atlantic Mavericks, to raise money for cancer research.
The event will be held in the luxurious theatre in the Aico offices on Maesbury road where it joins the A483. It starts at 6.30 with a light supper and free glass of wine. The Hall of Fame will also be on display. Tickets must be bought in advance on eventbrite :
