RUYTON XI TOWNS PARISH COUNCIL NEWSLETTER UPDATE
Now accepting applications for vacant seat on Parish Council
Following the resignation of Cllr Simon Gittins we recently advertised a casual vacancy in the parish. No by-election was called within the 14-day notice period so the Parish Council can now co-opt to fill this seat.
We would like to take this opportunity to pass on our sincere thanks to Simon for all he has done for the Parish Council and community over the years – his in depth knowledge of the parish and its history has been invaluable, and his can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in with a whole raft of community matters – from planning, to the environment and green spaces, from road safety, to crime prevention – will be greatly missed. We wish Simon all the very best moving forward.
Those are some pretty big shoes to fill, but if you are community-minded, enjoy working with people, have an interest in local matters, and would like to help improve the lives of your fellow parishioners – we'd love to hear from you!
The application forms detail what kind of skills and experience we are looking for, as well as the eligibility criteria, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. So if you have a skillset that you think might come in useful on the Parish Council, please do get in touch. Application forms are below and the application deadline is Sunday 27th November (before midnight). Please ensure you send your completed application form direct to the Parish Council clerk, or we may not be able to consider it if it is not received by the deadline.
If you'd like to know more about what being a councillor involves, we recommend you have an informal chat with the Chairman (or any of Your Councillors,) or you can also phone (01691 674742) or email the Clerk. You can also take a look at the Good Councillor's Guide which is a great intro into what Councils do and how they operate. If you have any questions at all, please just get in touch.
