Survey Supported local bus services due to be re-tendered in 2027
Good afternoon,
Shropshire Council's survey seeking views on supported local bus services due to be retendered in 2027 is now live.
We want to understand what people value about these services, what they feel is not working well, and what improvements or changes they would like to be considered. This survey is about listening, gathering evidence and understanding local needs before we prepare tender documents for bus operators – no decisions have been made about potential changes to these services at this stage.
The services included in the survey are:
- Oswestry Town Services – 400, 402, 403 and 404
- Oswestry School Service – 405
- Oswestry Town Service – 406
- Knighton to Ludlow – 738 and 740
- Oswestry to Baschurch to Shrewsbury – 576
- Shrewsbury Town Service (Shrewsbury Bus Station to Reabrook) – 21
- Whitchurch Town Service – 205
- Four Crosses to Oswestry – 71
- Cefn-Y-Blodwel to Oswestry – 54
We would be grateful if you could please help to spread the word about the survey with residents and any relevant community networks that you are connected to.
Even if none of the services listed operate directly within your area, we would still appreciate your support in sharing the survey more widely, as residents, along with their family and/or friends, may use these services to travel elsewhere in Shropshire.
Please find attached a promotional poster, which you are welcome to circulate electronically. We also have a limited number of printed A3 posters, suitable for local noticeboards and other key locations.
Full details can be found at the Shropshire Council website and the survey is open for comment until Friday 11 December 2026.
Thank you very much for your support in raising awareness of the survey and encouraging residents to have their say.
Kind regards
