Kate Middleton, Marilyn Monroe and David Beckham are the inspirations as Shrewsbury’s own fashion capital showcases the latest trends at an all action event next week.
The town’s Darwin and Pride Hill Shopping Centres will play host to a fast-paced Fashion On The Move show on Saturday, September 1, when a team of top models will display the latest trends.
Fashion On The Move will stage at least five roaming live catwalk shows in the two centres with models wearing the latest trends picked by the retailers in the centres.Marilyn Monroe – this is the 60th anniversary of her death - and the hourglass figure and feminine curves are back with structured dresses to emphasise the waist and the fuller form.
“We use models to show you how clothes will look on you – they aren’t six foot beanpoles but they are trained to dance and move because this is a really fun event. The audience will see just what the outfit will look like when you out dancing on a Saturday night.”
With the party season coming up there are lots of sequins and sparkle and metallics will also feature heavily as we gear up for Christmas. Eveningwear exudes both romance and femininity through delicate fabrications such as lace and sheer satin, ladylike silhouettes and sleek tailoring lines. The action will start at about 11am on the day with each show lasting up to 25 minutes and taking place outside the store which has provided the clothing.
Among those taking part are Monsoon and Marks and Spencer and M&S Commercial Manager Emma Cassidy said: “We’re really looking forward to it with our Autumn/Winter launch coming up.
