Wood carving of Bayeux tapestry/Snailbeach Lead Mine

A GIANT WOOD CARVING OF THE BAYEUX TAPESTRY!
on display at Shrewsbury Market Hall until 1st September

A giant, carved version of the Bayeux tapestry  created by Kevin Austin, measures 40ft and replicates scenes from the original embroidered tapestry which depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England.

The carving is part of a wider exhibition at the Visual Art Network Gallery, which also includes reworked local historic church carvings.

The Visual Art Network Gallery is located on the second floor of the Market Hall and  is open from 10am until 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
