POETRY EVENT at Shrewsbury Market Hall

at the Bird’s Nest Cafe on August 25 from 12pm until 3pm.

The event will feature two award winning poets, Troubadour 2009 winner, Barry Tench, from Shrewsbury and former poet laureate for Birmingham, Roy McFarlane, as well as more local talent.

Organiser Josh Arrowsmith said: “We often have live music at the Bird's Nest on a Saturday but this time we're taking a strictly verbal approach to give you something a little different! The event will run from approximately 12-3pm but we always recommend getting here early to ensure the best seats. All are welcome and as always should be a lovely day out for the family.”

Shrewsbury Market Hall is located under the town’s iconic clocktower and boasts a vibrant cacophony of eclectic stalls selling a range of goods from traditional fruit  and vegetables, fish and meat to Middle Eastern delights, champagne and oysters, vintage wares, clothes, books, trinkets, handmade jewellery and more.

The market’s main trading days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with a select few stalls open on Thursday mornings.
