Feedback update

Message from Colin Case.

Just a couple of updates following some feedback on recent activity.

TEA ROOM PALLING APPLICATION
In my personal statement in support of the Tea Room Planning Application, I referred to a Minute in an Old Minute Book that clearly "appoints" the Village Hall Committee (The Management Trustees of our local Village Hall Charity) as the official Managers of the Memorial Hall as well as the Parish Hall. This is important - it allowed the Memorial Hall to be used by WOMEN! This was done by amalgamating the two Committees into the one Charity. Some villagers have enquired about this Minute, as a matter of historical interest. So I have copied the page and made it available HERE

When I took over as Secretary of the Charity from Bill Jones, he gave me a box of old paperwork that he had collected over the many years that he worked in support of the Village Hall Committee and there were two old hard-back Minute Books among them. This is an extract from the Red Book, covering the period from July 1975 to September 1982. The Public Meeting that agreed to amalgamate the two Management Committees was in September 1978.

The second book (the Blue Book) covers the period from October 1958 to July 1975. Between them they make interesting reading, with many Family Names still well-known in the village. If anyone wants to see the books I am sure that could be arranged.

The Planning Application can be seen HERE

THE HOME GROWN SHOW
The second bit of feedback is that I understand that some villagers are having trouble finding the Entry Form for the Home Grown Show from the notes I circulated via Yoland's email system HERE
This might be because the link was split over two lines in the note.
The link to the Entry Form is HERE
The full programme can be seen HERE

The full programme is in the form of a "flip book" - a really nice way of presenting a document on-line.
If anyone would like a publication of their own publishing in the same way I am happy to see if I can help. I have the software to make the book and the server space to publish it for them. Obviously you need to own the copyright or have the holder's written permission.
Other examples are our Parish Plan HERE and our School Prospectus HERE - this has a nice cover designed by one of our talented School Staff Members, showing a very studious youngster that many will recognise! And more on the back and inside.

THE MAILING LIST
As a final point, can I suggest that all "readers" try and make sure that friends and neighbours in our Community are "registered" with Yoland so that they receive her emails, or at least know where to find her Blog with the complete set (HERE) Now that we no longer have the Three Parishes Newsletter (sadly, and many thanks to the team that provided it for so long) this is one of the very few ways to keep in touch.
