I am pleased to note that the Planning Application to use the Memorial Hall as a Tea Room has been approved - see the Officer's Report HERE
We all recognise that the key point in some of the objections is that parking may emerge as a problem.
So it relies on all users to minimise the inconvenience to local residents and business operators - recognising that the garage forecourt is not a Public Car Park, HGVs need access at the side of the Flower Shop and there are drives and parking spaces for residents that should not be obstructed. But with a sensible approach by customers I am sure we can all live with the Planning Decision.
So the best of luck to the new Tea Room enterprise.
One final comment is that my note enclosing the extract from the Old Red Minute Book has apparently raised the question about whether the Charities Commission is aware that our Charity also covers the Memorial Hall. The simplest of research will confirm that they are most certainly aware - this extract from our page on the Charity Commission web site shows that "we" cover the Memorial Hall as well as the Village Hall:-
