School holiday entertainment

Is everyone - parents, grandparents and children - all getting a bit bored with the holidays?

Are those in charge desperately looking for something new to entertain the small people?

Well here are a few ideas:-

The British Ironworks Centre at Aston, between West Felton and Oswestry.
Lots to look at, plenty of room to charge around and grass for a picnic.
But be careful if you take them into the showroom - just too much to touch and meddle with!

Whittington Castle - I expect everyone has been there but I find it never palls, just £1 for the car                 park which goes to keeping this unique community run castle going, lots of space to run around, and         a super cafe (which is not open on a Monday) but lots of grass for a picnic.

Ellesmere Canal & Marina If you approach Ellesmere from Whittington, head for the `superstore`          You can park at Tescos and walk to the canal and see dozens of interesting canal boats parked and                 driving past.  There are plenty of picnic tables, which for a picnic which you can share with the
        sparrows.

The Quarry Park in Shrewsbury is always great for a run around and there is a good playground.
A Trip round the The Loop from the Welsh Bridge is something different.   Get a Shrewsbury brochure         map and you can all follow the route`to the English Bridge - first lesson in map reading.  The whole             trip takes about 40 minutes.   Time for lunch?

Sophie`s Pancake Bar in the Market will go down a storm - everyone loves pancakes and you can         buy a (very strong) Belgiun Beer to take home!
