KATE MOSSE - The Taxidermist's Daughter

Friday 12th September  2014, 7.00pm (for 7.30pm start) at The Wynnstay Hotel

Join us for an evening with international bestselling author Kate Mosse as she talks about her enthralling new novel The Taxidermist's Daughter.

Combining the distinct sense of time and place familiar to millions of readers of her historical fiction (Labyrinth, Sepulchre and Citadel - The Languedoc Trilogy) with the atmospheric, Gothic storytelling of her short fiction (The Winter Ghosts  The Mistletoe Bride & Other Haunting Tales)The Taxidermist’s Daughter is a haunting, psychological thriller set in Sussex, which begins as the bells are striking midnight on the Eve of St Mark in April 1912 and reaches its shocking conclusion, four months later – after a series of grisly murders has rocked the village – as the flood waters are on the rise.

A new book by Kate Mosse is always something wonderful to look forward to. We are delighted to welcome Kate to Oswestry in the week of publication.

Book of the Month - August
Our book of the month for August is 'H is For Hawk' by Helen Macdonald.

We love this book - here's a short review:

H is for Hawk is at once a memoir of grief  and a falconer's diary about the hard-won trust between hawk and human. Macdonald also splices into the narrative a fascinating biographical account of fellow falconer and writer T. H. White. The language is spare, evocative and electric, charged with emotion. A brilliant, moving read - Louisa

We're offering a FREE coffee of Tea with every copy of H is for Hawk purchased.
