A sneak preview of the latest look from K2's Sassoon stylists
K2 SALON in the Darwin Centre has become one of the first in the country to reveal the latest looks from the world famous Vidal Sassoon hairdressing empire.
K2 salon in Shrewsbury is owned by Philip Minton, who trained with the cutting edge cutters in the 60s, and the branch is now an official Sassoon partner salon.
Philip and his team of stylists have just been shown the latest fashionable styles released by the company and tried them out on six willing models this weekend.
Philip says: "The latest styles are fuller and softer than they have been for the last few years, it's a move towards bigger hair. Obviously the line and the cut is still the most important thing but what Vidal Sassoon does is take this fashion and then give it a really strong shape."
The new looks have focussed on longer hair – anything from a bob cut to longer – but with no styles for shorter hair this time round.
"As clothes and fashions change then hair changes with them. These looks just go with all the fashions that are coming through at the moment with a bit of an 80s feel to them."
At one time Philip did the hair of Sassoon's first wife who he described as a really lovely woman.Vidal Sassoon became a famous name in fashion after using geometric, modern styles in haircuts during the 60s, soon attracting celebrity clients.
Being a Sassoon partnership salon gives Philip and the team at K2 access to these products and first look at the latest styles each time a new trend is launched.
