Willow Gallery CIC Exhibition: Information for Exhibitors

Exhibition Title: Spring Open 2015
 
Dates: Saturday 18th April to Saturday 23rd May

Summary: An Open Exhibition - All Themes, Subjects and Media accepted at the galleries discretion.
 
Media: Open to all media: Paintings, sculpture, original prints, textiles, drawing, ceramics, photography, glass and metal work.
Installations considered, please contact the gallery.

Description: This exhibition will run for 5 weeks. Artists can submit a single piece or a series/collection of work, submission fees are according to the space used rather than number of works submitted.
The gallery will be responsible for hanging all artwork.
 
Exhibition Timetable:
Entry Form + Entry Fee + Signed Exhibitors Agreement, Hand in Deadline: Monday 6th April

Artwork Delivery: Monday 6th April to Saturday 11th April. Entries after this date will not be accepted
Exhibition Dates: Monday 18th April – Saturday 23rd May
Collection of all unsold artwork: Saturday 23rd May (5pm to 6pm) or Sunday 24th May (11am–2pm)

Submission Types and Prices:
Type 1:Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames) ≤100cm - £20
Type 2:Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames) ≤200cm - £40
Type 3:Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames) ≤300cm - £60
Type 4:Maximum total width of all works (inc. frames)≤400cm - £80
Type 5:Plinth for sculpture, ceramics and 3D work – 20x30cm - £15

Commission:
The gallery takes 35% commission on all artwork sold. Please include this commission within the given selling price on the application form.The Willow Gallery is a community interest, not-for-profit, gallery therefore commission on sales and exhibition entry fees go to supporting the up-keep of the gallery.

2015 CRAFT FAIRS 

Saturday 4th April 2015, 10am to 5pm – A few stalls still available
Saturday 18th July, 10am to 5pm
Saturday 24th October, 10am to 5pm

Following our tradition of Craft Fairs we hope to attract a large number of visitors looking for unique and handcrafted gifts. Stall holders are asked to sell products UK made and appropriate to the ethos of the gallery selling handmade art and craft.

£35 per stall per craft fair in the Main Gallery space.

Additional Information       
The Willow Gallery provides one 6ft x 2ft table and chairs for each stall holder.
All Craft Fairs are from 10am - 5pm with set up from 8:30am to 10am and leave by 6:30pm. Please do not pack away or leave your stall before 5pm.
No commission taken on sales.
Complimentary Tea & Coffee will be served to all stall holders at 10am.
Free parking at rear of gallery, limited spaces available. There is also reasonably priced parking nearby.
Please provide your own table cloths. For stalls requiring electricity we will allocate you a stall close to an outlet but you may want to bring an extension lead to be sure everything reaches.

Writing Through Touch with Emily Wilkinson & Ted Eames
Wednesday 1th April, 11-2pm
Explore the possibilities of writing prompted by one of our most creative senses, and be guided through tactile techniques to find the right words. Emily is an artist and wordsmith who works in mixed media and writing, Ted is a writer who enjoys bringing out creative potential in group experiences.
£9 per person
 
Beyond the Image with Bethany Rivers - Creative Writing II
Saturday 11th April, 11am – 2pm
How can you make images be felt more deeply for the reader?  How do you take your writing to a deeper level?  An inspiring workshop for those who want to improve their writing, using the stimulus of art and movement.

Poems by Post with Emily Wilkinson
Saturday 11th April, 2.30 – 5pm
Get creative and poetic with your correspondence! In this drop-in workshop you can pen your own poem for someone special, or select one to send from Emily's poetry library. You can make your letters and postcards beautiful using art materials, collage and letter stamps. Bring addresses of friends, families and loved ones, plus postage stamps if you'd like to send your creations straight away.
For all ages, drop in session, donations welcome.

Drawing the Figure the Italian Way with Max Baccanello
Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th April, 10am to 5pm
It will start with a series of short poses and then building up to a much longer one. I will be doing demonstrations and showing people different techniques on how to draw quickly from life and then some slower and more detailed techniques. We shall start in pencil for the quick drawing and then go to Italian charcoal for the longer poses. For the longer pose I shall be teaching the Italian traditional life drawing techniques.
£120 including materials.
 
Colour Exploration with Tereska Shepherd
Aberystwyth University Life Long Learning Course Code: CF300
27/04/15; 11/05/15; 1/06/15; 22/06/15 2015, 10am to 3.30pm.
Discover the exciting properties of colour and tone whilst exploring a diverse range of painting and drawing skills using colour. Learn about the different aspects and experimentations of colour mixing whilst exploring a variety of subject matter including landscape, still life, textured surfaces, portraiture and abstraction. Investigate the works of contemporary and historical artists who use colour in a lively way.
£100 (£80 concessions)
 
En Guard! Fencing with Bridie Lloyd
Wednesdays; 29th April, 6th May, 13th May, 20th May, 7pm to 8pm
An Introduction to sword fencing, learn the basics of this ancient marshal art. Using plastic training swords you will develop new skills and techniques in the fundamentals of sword fencing, which can be described as a lightning game of chess.
£35 for 4 sessions.
