3-11 year olds fun at Shrewsbury shopping centres

Message from Alistair Syme, PR Shrewsbury shopping centres.

Wheel-y great fun for kids in the Darwin Shopping Centre

The traffic is crazy in Shrewsbury's busy Darwin Shopping Centre this week – but that's all the more reason to go because it's going to be great fun.

Madcap motoring mayhem is guaranteed when Stop & Go, the latest in a year-long series of special free children's activity days for three to 11-year-olds on Thursdays through 2015's school holidays.

The Snapper Jaxx Kids Club team from the fabulous Bakehouse Factory are behind the wheel for the traffic-themed activities starting on Thursday, April 2, at 11am and running through every hour until 4pm.

Everyone is welcome to join in an action packed adventure on wheels as Gertie-a-Go-Go and Stevie-Stop-n-Brake-it invite children to hop in to their dream vehicles and go for an imaginary tour around Snapperville.

It's a must for all those who love cars, trucks, bikes and trikes – as well as anyone who loves an adventure story and the chance to get hands on and make something to take home.

Bakehouse Factory's Kate Statham said: "We want as many children as possible to come along and get involved in the theme and have lots of fun.

"We were here in February for Brilliant Builders and we had a great time and we're really looking forward to another fun day this Thursday.

"Stop & Go is on every hour from 11am, on the hour, and our performers will be taking the junior motorists through an action-packed performance of songs and story-telling.

"Then they can take part in themed craft activity, making something that relates to the performance and being able to take it home with them.

"The feedback we get is that the children really enjoy the events and spending time with the characters and being drawn into the theme – it's all about sparking their imaginations."

Kevin Lockwood, Manager of the Darwin, Pride Hill and Riverside Shopping Centres, said: "These events really are brilliant and you can guarantee that the team from Bakehouse Factory will get everyone in top gear on Thursday.

"We have a whole series of these events lined up for the school holidays this year and they're sure to be really popular and make for some very lively Thursdays here in the shopping centres right through to the end of August."

All the events take place on Thursdays and run from 11am to 4pm with plenty of special offers in the shopping centres as well and they follow this Thursday's Stop & Go with some cosmic adventures in Shooting Stars next week, on Thursday, April 9, in the Pride Hill Shopping Centre.

Still to come are:

May 28, Rain or Shine, Wonderful Weather in the Darwin Shopping Centre.

July 23, Musical Mayhem, Tuning Up in the Pride Hill Shopping Centre.

July 30, Over The Rainbow, Colourful Journey in the Darwin Shopping Centre.

August 6, 999 Emergency, Blue Lights in the Pride Hill Shopping Centre.

August 13, Let's Go Camping, Traffic Fun in the Darwin Shopping Centre.
