Balloon Festival at the British Ironworks Centre

Tickets now available for the Oswestry Balloon Festival!
Excitement is reaching soaring heights for the up and coming Oswestry Balloon Festival, taking place on the bank holiday weekend in August. The event will be held here at the Centre in collaboration with Lindstrand Technologies, the Oswestry based hot air balloon corporation.

There are over 50 fabulous hot air balloons attending, filling the skies throughout the weekend, creating spectacular displays and raising money for Nightingale Hospice, a Wrexham charity that provides vital palliative care for terminally ill patients across Oswestry and the wider Shropshire area.

The Oswestry Balloon Festival believes there is no limit to imagination, as well as a spectacular show of hot air balloons, the event will also include various activities and displays on throughout the day to create a fun and enjoyable time for all who attend. This will be Oswestry's first ever balloon festival which will see thousands of spectators flood to the Shropshire county to take part.

There will be a fascinating assortment of balloons attending the weekend, some measuring an impressive 100ft tall, coming in all different shapes and sizes. Throughout each of the three days, the balloons will be taking off at different times from the arena, with many of the weird and wonderful shaped balloons being tethered to allow spectators to get a great view. The event will also see the balloons take part in a famous Key Grab race, where pilots and their teams will be competing to swoop in on a specific point and take the keys to be crowned the winner. A thrilling chase for all to watch and the victor will be rewarded with a fabulous prize.

Tickets are priced at £10 per adult, £5 per child (under 2's go free) and £5 per car.
