SUMMER OPEN
Mixed exhibition open to established artists as well as new and emerging artists, drawing together a wide range of styles, subjects and media.This year the exhibition has been split into two shows, with the first running from Saturday July 8 to Saturday August 12 and the second from Saturday August 19 to Saturday September 16.

Cancellation of Gren Bartley gig July 19
We do regret the band having to cancel at short notice due to illness. Using the details provided at the time of booking, we trust we were able to notify all ticket-holders and confirm refund arrangements. Sorry all those who were looking forward to a great night. We will keep you informed if the band is able to reschedule.

REMI HARRIS PROJECT
Captivating jazz guitarist Remi, accompanied by rhythm guitar and double base, take gypsy swing characteristics and infuse them with influences from jazz, blues, rock, world music and more...The show includes solo, duet and trio playing, including original compositions as well as new arrangements of repertoire from Django Reinhardt, Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery, Jimi Hendrix and Peter Green to name a few.

Remi has been playing from a young age and, now 23, has gained a great deal of acclaim both at home and internationally. He has performed at Buckingham Palace, the glamorous Montreal Jazz Festival, the BBC Proms with Jamie Cullum at the Royal Albert Hall, on BBC 4 Television and live on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 3.​

AUTUMN CRAFT FAIR
Craft-makers, if you would like to apply for a stall at our October Craft Fair, please contact us on willowgalleryoswestry@gmail.com. Table hire remains the same at £35, and there is no commission on sales you make. The fair will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm (entry for stallholders and set-up time from 8am). When booking, please ensure that you provide full contact details, including email.
 
UPCOMING WORKSHOPS & COURSES
Master a new skill at one of our upcoming courses and workshops. The tutors are all artists skilled in their own practices, and class sizes are kept small to ensure plenty of one-to-one expert attention. All sessions take place at the Willow Gallery's Dunbabin Room. Class numbers are limited, so please book as early as you can to avoid missing out.

Please note that courses previously listed and not appearing below are now fully subscribed. This includes felting artist Susan Mulcock's September courses, but  there are a couple of places available on her November course. Ian Phillips' linocut printmaking workshop in November is also fully booked. We hope Ian will repeat this ever-popular workshop next year, so please contact the Gallery if you wish to register your interest.

Courses are for students aged 18+ unless otherwise stated or unless prior arrangements have been made. Please check our website for full details, including information about what materials you may need to bring. AFTER-SCHOOL CREATIVE ART WITH JENNY O'LEARY
In October Jenny will be starting childrens' after-school creative activities - fun and stimulating, great for all young creatives. Please contact the Gallery to find out more.
 
Artist and teacher Jenny is an expert in batik and other textile arts. She runs courses and workshops in Shropshire and around the UK, and has a full DBS check.

CLASSES
Classes are held at the Willow Gallery's Dunbabin Room unless otherwise stated.
LEARN TAI CHI AND QIGONG
Accessible for people of all ages and abilities
Instructor: David Bannister

David has been practising various forms of Tai Chi and Qigong for four years. He is dedicated to continuing his practice of the art and to sharing his knowledge.
 
Classes are held in 5-week blocks and are £30 for five sessions. No special equipment is required: come in loose, comfortable clothing and bring soft flat shoes to wear. To enquire further, please contact David on 07541 535587 or email banni66@icloud.com.

You will need your own instrument – fiddle, flute, whistle or mandolin. Classes are held in Shrewsbury and Oswestry. The Improvers' Class requires a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument. The Advanced Class is for players with more experience.

Centrally-located in Oswestry, the former car showroom is an innovative place where you can seek out and buy original artworks - paintings, sculpture, ceramics, textile art, jewellery, glassware and more. Ever-changing exhibitions throughout the year make regular visits a must. Other events include live music, workshops, talks and craft fairs, while in the Gallery Shop there is always an interesting selection of arts and crafts to browse.
Artists-in-Residence
Visitors to the Gallery will also be able to see the work and work-in-progress of resident artists Karl Robinson-Bray and David Bannister. Both welcome questions and dialogue, and are happy to undertake commissions: that empty wall at home is just waiting...
Willow Eatery
The on-site family- and wheelchair-friendly Willow Eatery is a popular local rendezvous, serving morning coffee, freshly-prepared light lunches and afternoon tea with a tempting selection of cakes. You can also book a party.

Gift vouchers and other gift ideas
Gift vouchers are available at the Willow. They can be bought for any amount and be redeemed in both the Gallery and the Shop. Booking a place for a friend on one of our artist-run workshops can also make an original and rewarding gift - or treat a music-loving friend or family member to a ticket for one of our live music events.
 
A venue to suit your occasion
Behind the Gallery, the Dunbabin Room is a multipurpose room that lends itself to an array of events from parties and workshops to talks and business meetings, while its large clear hard floor and high ceiling are perfect for dance and fitness classes.
