WHERE IS THE METAL POPPY MISSING FROM RUYTON XI TOWNS WAR MEMORIAL??
The person who keeps our unique war memorial swept clean and attends to the flowers in the entrance has, every year, put a 3ft high metal poppy in the plant pot?
Sometime between 3 and 4pm on Monday, 1st November, the poppy disappeared. This very special item came from a display in the Tower of London marking in 2014, marking 100 years since the beginning of World War I.
So where is the poppy? Nobody stops a car on this part of the Brownhill to steal a metal poppy.
So the chances are it was someone who was walking past. Who walks along the brownhill?
The chances are it was a Child? Teenager? Man? Woman? Who lives in the village. Could the culprit belong to your household?
I am sure if this special ornament is returned, which was put in the War Memorial to remember the men from our village who gave their lives for their country. Concience will be cleared.
