Three garden openings to look forward to this week. MILLICHOPE PARK, Munslow, SY7 9HA is opening on Sunday 30th April from from 2 pm to 6 pm. 8m NE of Craven Arms. off B4368 Craven Arms to Bridgnorth Rd. Nr Munslow then follow yellow signs. Admission £6, children free. Tea at the Hall in aid of Severn Hospice, Lingen Davies, & Midlands Air Ambulance. Dogs on leads welcome. ? Historic landscape gardens covering 14 acres with lakes, and cascades dating from C18, woodland walks and wildflowers. Wonderful displays of bluebells. |

Also opening this week is RUTHALL MANOR, Ditton Priors, WV16 6TN, on Monday 1st May from 12.30 pm to 5.30 pm. 7m SW of Bridgnorth. At Ditton Priors Church take road signed Bridgnorth, then 2nd L. Garden 1m. Admission £5, children free. Home-made teas until 4:30 pm. Dogs on leads welcome. ? Offset by a mature collection of specimen trees, the garden is divided into intimate sections, carefully linked by winding paths. The front lawn flanked by striking borders, extends to a gravel, art garden and ha-ha. Clematis and roses scramble through an eclectic collection of wrought-iron work, unique pottery and secluded seating. A stunning horse pond with primulas, iris and bog plants. Lots of lovely shrubs to see. Jigsaw puzzle sale. Donation to NGS from refreshments. Wheelchair access to most parts.

Last but not least is NEEN VIEW, Neen Sollars, Cleobury Mortimer, DY14 9AB, on Wednesday 3rd May from 12 pm to 5 pm. 3m from the Market Town of Cleobury Mortimer. From A456 past Mamble, turn Rat Neen Sollars, follow lane to Live & Let Live for parking. From Cleobury take the Tenbury Rd, turn L & L again then up the hill to Neen View gardens. Admission £5, children free. Teas. Dogs on leads welcome. ? A woodland garden with stunning panoramic views of the Clee Hills and Teme Valley. Mature trees including azaleas, camellias and rhododendrons. Wildlife ponds and wildflower meadow. There are plenty of seats to enjoy the views. Walking around you will find a ruined Bothy and Japanese stream garden. |
