| | Historic Oswestry Winter landscapes with a dusting of snow are just the place for a brisk walk. Walk the towpaths and cross the stunning World Heritage site of Pontcysyllte and Chirk Aqueducts, beautiful in any season but spectacular when the trees are bare and the air is clear. You could be lucky and see Old Oswestry hillfort highlighted by a dusting of snow. Take a December ride on one of our heritage trains. A mince pie and a visit with Santa will add a little extra to the journey through beautiful countryside. |
| | | Surprising Oswestry There are lots of Christmas events in Oswestry – which will you choose? Come along for our Christmas Lights switch on on November 21st and stay for live music in the market square. Pop into The Bailey Head to warm up afterwards, they are one of four finalists in the national CAMRA pub of the year competition. The first weekend in December is full of Christmas fun! For one night only on December 6th, it is Oswestry Christmas Live. The town centre becomes a fairground with a Christmas market, live music and a visit from Santa. Saturday is Christmas Parade Day. This carnival style event brings floats and folk from all around Oswestry. It wanders its way musically through the town centre on Saturday morning, leaving plenty of time to go shopping later. |
