Oswestry Film Society coming film showings

Dear Blogger

Message from Oswestry Film Society

Starting 2025 with a bang

After our sell-out encore-screening of Wilding, we're up and running with a great mix of films, starting this Wednesday (Jan 15) with the twisting drama Our Kind Of Traitor.
Plus, we have some exciting extras to tell you about on upcoming screening nights - and if you enjoyed (or missed!) Wilding, then Fantastic Fungi on Jan 29 is right up your street.

Here's what's happening through January....

  • Jan 15 OUR KIND OF TRAITOR (15) - Is a defecting Russian all he seems - and are his potential British beneficiaries? Gripping drama based on spy master-novelist John le Carre's book.
  • Jan 22 AMA GLORIA (12A) - Outstanding coming-of-age feature as a Parisian city girl is thrown into her nanny's life in Cape Verde (French, subtitles)
  • Jan 29 FANTASTIC FUNGI (15) - a revelatory time-lapse journey that takes us into the amazing underground network under our feet. We are one of the first to show this remastered special edition.  EXTRA: A peek behind the scenes at Oswestry's new mushroom research centre and cafe, Shrooma.
  • Other news: We're delighted to be able to bring you a Q&A with Oswestry film director Gareth Thomas about his locally produced TV series Henry House (Feb 19) and to support Oswestry's first Wilfred Owen Festical with a special screening on Mar 19..
  • More details on the above and all films through to the end of March on the OFS website www.oswestryfilmsociety.com (link below)
  • Please support us in keeping live cinema in Oswestry.
