Message from Whittington Music Festival

Priority booking opens this Saturday 11 January. If you've been intending to take advantage of this opportunity please renew your subscription or sign up as soon as possible because priority booking will end on 24 January. You can download the application form from the 'Support us' page of the website whittingtonmusicfestival.org.uk/support-us-friends-scheme/ General booking starts on Saturday 25 January.
Tickets for the evening and Sunday afternoon concerts are £21, and the Family Concert and Jazz in the Afternoon are £17 each. Under 26s are still admitted free. Festival Passes are unchanged at £75. A bargain!
The online box office is now much easier to use. The system for booking Festival Passes is slightly different this year and has two advantages - you are not restricted to seats in a particular area, and the Passes can stay on sale for longer. Obviously the sooner you book your Pass the more choice you will have.

'Whittington in Winter'
Renowned baritone Peter Edge is travelling straight from the Royal Opera House Covent Garden to give a recital. Come and hear English songs, and arias from your favourite operas at 3pm on Saturday 8 February. Peter will be accompanied by pianist Martin Bussey. Proceeds will support the festival. A concert for Peace & Reconciliation directed by Christopher Symons and featuring the Wilfred Owen String Quartet of instruments. These were made from the wood of a sycamore tree at Graiglockhart Hospital where Wilfred Owen and Seigfried Sassoon were patients together. The insruments are joined by a violin played in Auschwitz.
