Opportunity for Food Producers & Rural Tourism Businesses

Subject: RDPE Growth Programme Grants Now Open for Applications
 

RDPE Grants are now available for food producers and rural tourism businesses. Join the Marches Growth Hub Shropshire and DEFRA on Tuesday 28th February for more information on the Growth Programme funding (for tourism, food and drink projects) and the Shropshire LEADER Programme.

The RDPE Growth Programme, administered by DEFRA is now open for applications for capital grants to support tourism projects and food and drink processing activities.

Grants of a minimum of £35k* are available to:

  • grow and enhance the food and drink sector by supporting micro, small and medium-sized food producers and processors looking to expand and create jobs.  40% grant intervention rate available.
  • develop visitor attractions, tourist information, and recreational and small scale infrastructure projects including holiday accommodation. The grant intervention rate is between 40% to 100% depending on the type of activity to be supported and organisation applying.

* Please note that there is the possibly of a lower minimum grant amount of £20k in rural areas who are not in the South Shropshire LEADER area.

** please note that the Marches is only participating in the Food Processing and Tourism Infrastructure grants.

An event for prospective applicants is being held at the Shropshire Growth Hub on Tuesday 28th February. This event is aimed at businesses and organisations based in rural Shropshire who might be eligible to apply for funding from European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), administered by DEFRA, and other DEFRA Grant Schemes.

The event will include information on the Marches LEP Growth Programme funding (for tourism, food and drink projects) and the Shropshire LEADER Programme.
