What`sa on at the Ironworks at half term

Message from the British Ironworks Centre, Aston, Oswestry.

his Weekend We've Got A Scavenger Hunt, Exotic Animals, Live Music And More!

Half term's just around the corner and what better way to spend the time than with your little explorers... We've got a caricaturist in the showroom, magnificent sculptures hiding treasure on our Scavenger Hunt and Zoosbury showcasing exotic insects and animals.

If you're looking for a romantic way to spend the weekend we've got plenty going on for couples too, enjoy a delicious romantic lunch together, stroll hand in hand to soulful sounds from our live musicians or declare your undying love (or lust!) for your partner on our Love Wall...

The British Ironwork Centre Needs You!

The What's On Readers' Awards have been announced and we're delighted to be in the final seven of the Best Visitor Attraction in Shropshire category.

Clive Knowles, BIC's Chairman, said: "It's amazing that we've been named as finalists and we are thrilled to be recognised for what we have become."
But the BIC is an attraction that doesn't rest on its laurels so we're not quite content with that, we want to take the top spot, and that's where we need your help...

As an evolving family-run business, that's completely free to visit, requiring no funding and a champion to local community and charity, winning this category would be a tremendous boost for our 60+ strong team and ask that you vote for us now to make the dream a reality!

Love Isn't Just For Valentine's

We've launched an appeal to schools across Shropshire to collect thousands of unwanted tins and it has been a roaring success so far!

Clive Knowles, our chariman, said: "This project intends to highlight the opportunities of doing something useful and beautiful from general household waste. This connects to the education system and relates to saving the environment and how, when everyone pulls together, we can have a positive impact on our world."

We intend to create a giant bust of her Majesty the Queen from all of the tens of thousands of cans collected from schools. Every school partnering this colossal ambition will be rewarded with a completely free day of fun and creativity here at the Centre.

If all cans were recycled in the UK we would need 20 million fewer dustbins.

Interested schools can contact us for more information on how to get involved. We've got leaflets and flyers, recycling fact sheets, project leaflets and collection bins ready and raring to go!

Join us on a fun and magical journey across the world on selected dates between the 11th and 26th February. You'll meet an array of amazing animals, with Zoosbury's own wacky professors in our half term educational animal show.

Come dressed as either scientists or wizards to add to the magical fun!

Animals appearing in the show include reptiles, bugs, spiders, exotic mammals and creepy crawlies - a great show for all ages!

Tickets are just £4 each and each show lasts for an hour.

Between the 18th and 24th there will also be an exciting animal waiting to meet you in our showroom!
