Penny Farthing Spectacular This Sunday
This Sunday at 10am the gates will be flung open for the public at the British Ironwork Centre for the inaugural Great Penny Farthing Spectacular.
Riders will be lining the pedestrian only grounds with bicycles ranging from 150 year old Penny Farthings to vintage tricycles and Boneshakers.
The National Cycle Museum, of Llandrindod Wells, will be one of many exhibitors and individuals choosing to bring the cream of their crop to display with pride on the day.
They've got some exciting machines to parade including a Kangaroo from the 1880's, a gentleman's bamboo cycle complete with nickel lugs and bamboo mudguards, an Edwardian ladies roadster and an original Raleigh Chopper and, the piece de resistance, is of course an original Penny Farthing.
Some of the riders are bringing machines of elegant heritage, we'll have everything from an 1860's Velocipede to a modern day Penny Farthing with bump-dampening rubber tyres.
At the British Ironwork Centre we pride ourselves on hosting events which are family friendly, exciting and community driven and The Great Penny Farthing Spectacular could well be our most exciting event yet!

The British Ironwork Centre is proud to invite people of all ages to don their vintage clothing, sit atop their favourite classic pre-1986 steed and pedal around our grounds.
All participants have free entry, lunch and a tea or coffee all with our compliments, t-shirts & medals for the winners.
