Subject : Support Shropshire's Bid to Host the UK Recovery Walk 2018 in Shrewsbury
Dear Colleagues,
Many thanks for all of your help and support throughout July in promoting Shrewsbury's bid to host the UK Recovery Walk 2018.
Voting closes at 12.00pm this coming Friday (28th July) and we want one final push for votes in order to bring the walk to Shropshire.
The UK Recovery Walk is an annual event that aims to celebrate recovery and freedom from drug and alcohol dependence. Held in September, as part of International Recovery Month, people from all over the country come together to provide hope and inspiration to those who are struggling to overcome their drug and alcohol misuse.
Hosting the Recovery Walk in Shrewsbury will mean so much more than just the day itself it would be a real catalyst for the continued development of effective recovery from drug and alcohol dependence in our county. The event will raise awareness of drug and alcohol dependency and challenge the stigma
linked with substance misuse, demonstrating that recovery is possible.
