May 2018 - all-British Festival programme announced!

Whittington's sixth International Chamber Music Festival runs from Tuesday 15 to Sunday 20 May 2018. Making a change from our single-composer celebrations, this festival, "Fantasia on a British Theme", will feature the music of seventeen British composers. Elgar and Vaughan Williams will head the bill, together with a rich selection of works that should, and will soon, be much better known. There will also be half an hour of folk music to remind us where so much of our musical heritage comes from. You can find the full programme here, and soon it will feature on the appropriate page of the website as well.

Our musicians include again the celebrated Elias Quartet, as well as Principals of the London Symphony Orchestra and other international artists.

Tickets go on general sale from January 1, and for the first time you will be able to book individual seats online. About two-thirds of the seating will remain unreserved, best though to be booked in advance. Members of our Friends Scheme will have preferential priority booking during the whole of December, so if you aren't already a member, do join now! The Benefactors, Patrons and Friends of the Festival ("The Friends Scheme") make an enormously valuable contribution to the success of our concerts every year.
Please join.

Finally may I introduce myself as the Festival's new chairman. I and two other new trustees have been appointed to take some weight off Lawrence's and Rosie's shoulders, and I look forward to seeing you in May.

The festival office contact details are unchanged.
