Tickets £10    He's no David Attenborough, but this coming Saturday afternoon, John Vidal, the former environment editor of the Guardian and director of the Willow Gallery, will be talking about Britain's obsession with plastic with two brilliant young film makers.    Poppy Chandler and Mike Wafer of Outpost pictures have filmed  for the BBC and National Geographic among others, and have spent months documenting how plastic gets everywhere. They will be showing rushes of their forthcoming film which includes interviews with scientists, encounters with basking sharks, and film of the most polluted river in the world.    Please join the three of them for a conversation at the Hermon Chapel, Chapel street, Oswestry [https://www.hermonchapel.com/] on Saturday.  Event starts at 3pm, doors open 2.30. Entry £10, under 16s £5.  This Saturday at Willow Gallery Oswestry    Live Performance  Wilfred & Susan: War & Love  Saturday October 27th, Start 8pm (doors 7pm) Tickets £10  An amalgamation of poetry, song and string trio. Wilfred Owen's poems, an interpretation, set to song, of his mother Susan's perspective on her son at war, accompanied by the eclectic string trio of Faith Brackenbury violin/viola/vocals. Jane Griffiths (Owl Light Trio) violin/viola, and Barney Morse Brown (Duotone) cello. Poet, Leo Nitemynks. Upcoming Workshop  Places are still available for Jenny O'Learys Batik Bag Workshop this Saturday    Batik Bags with Jenny O'Leary  Saturday 27th October, 10am to 4pm  Cost £45  Create a unique bag using batik –  hot wax resist and dyes. Landscapes, flowers, birds, abstract designs, whatever you like, it's possible to have a different design on each side!  Materials Required  Bring images for inspiration, an apron, rubber gloves, hairdryer.  A cotton bag and materials will be provided  Upcoming Performance at Willow Gallery    Live Performance  "Reflecting Fridas" by Ana Maria Lines  Saturday 3rd November  Show : 7.30pm – 8.30pm (Doors 7pm)  Tickets: £10 (For ages 15 plus)    The life and work of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo are the inspiration for the show  "Reflecting Fridas", created and performed by Brazilian storyteller Ana Maria Lines. Frida's soul echos in many of us. Frida's diversities, love, injuries, suffering were the subject for her work. A unique life, an exceptional woman.  "Ana Lines' one- woman Frida Kahlo show is a tour de force. Everything works, from her charming storytelling style to the brilliant narrative structure of the show which allows her to interweave 3 folktales into Frida's extraordinary life story."    Workshop – "Mexican Table and introduction to real life stories" with Ana Maria Lines  Saturday 3rd November  5pm to 6.30pm   –   £15 for workshop  (£20 for workshop and performance)  (Stories, craft and songs)  Explanation about the meaning of the Death Table in Mexico, breathy exercise about real life stories, decoration of the table.
