Our 2019 festival isn't quite over yet!

Throughout September, OswestryÆs Willow Gallery is exhibiting work by local artists in various media inspired by the music of Dvorßk and the Bohemians. It's a stunning display which has just been opened by James our artistic director (pictured here with some of the artists). Do go and see it if you can.

A brand new CD, which includes DvorßkÆs American Quartet and SmetanaÆs æFrom my LifeÆ, is on sale at the Gallery, as well as at Rowanthorn, Old Chapel Court. The CD is also available online: it costs ú10.

Every one of May's performances was also videoed, and a generous selection will soon be up on YouTube at jamesbarraletmusic. HereÆs a special taster û itÆs DvorßkÆs Piano Quintet No 2 in A from the final night.

But the focus is already shifting to our exciting plans for 12-17 May 2020. Folklassical will be an adventurous mix of classical and folk music, attracting some of the best artists from both genres. The programme will demonstrate that the dividing line between them is an artificial one, since each borrows from the other, and our world-class artists will make brilliant music from both.

Already we have the renowned folk/ classical group Muszikas from Hungary, as well as Tritonus from Switzerland with their array of period and regional instruments. And we will be welcoming back Donald Grant and Greg Lawson (below), who are as well-known in a folk club as in the concert hall. They will be joined by other familiar faces from our previous classical ensembles.

Once the programme is finalised you will get details by email; or you can find them on the website, which has recently been upgraded to be easier to access from a mobile phone as well as easier to find. You might also like to follow us on Facebook and Twitter , and become part of the build-up to next May by sharing updates on your own networks.

Tickets will go on general sale in January. Our Friends Scheme members will have the chance to book their seats a month earlier, so if you would like to join them (from as little as ú25), you can find details here. Arts Council England have offered support for the 2020 Festival on condition that we raise ú5,000 from Sponsors and Friends by the end of October, so any early offer of help would be much valued. We really do depend on such support.

Finally, we take our Privacy policy very seriously, and maintain our database to GDPR standards. If you would prefer not to receive further mailings, please unsubscribe below. Otherwise, we look forward to being in touch, and seeing you next May!
