The first of our 2022 open gardens

Open on Sunday 20th February 2022 from 2 pm to 5 pm
Millichope Park off B4368 Craven Arms to Bridgnorth Rd,. Nr Munslow
Opening as part of the 2022 Snowdrop Festive, these historic landscape gardens cover 14 acres with lakes and cascades dating from C18, woodland walks and wildflowers. The blocks of woodland flanking the hall are hosts throughout the spring to the earliest flowers including winter aconites, a carpet of snowdrops and woodland anemones.  These are followed by daffodils and the native English bluebell which should be in full flower when the garden opens again on the 1st May. The extensive system of lakes and cascades attracts both waterfowl and insect life, creating picturesque reflections of the adjacent water gardens and landscape architecture.
Regrettably, refreshments will not be available for this opening
Our 2022 season will continue in April.  The first garden to open will be the Albrighton Trust Moat and Gardens in Albrighton, Wolverhampton on the 9th April from 11 am to 3 pm.
The gardens are designed around an ancient moat which once surrounded a C13 fortified manor house.  The remains of the house can no longer be seen but the moat has been restored to provide recreational and educational facilities for disabled youngsters and is a haven for wildlife. The gardens are tended by volunteers and their "garden buddies" with a particular emphasis on conservation and the environment.  Ever changing, the garden opens early this year to showcase the many hundreds of spring bulbs planted throughout the gardens.
Fully accessible by wheelchair.  Disabled WC and personal care area with hoist.  Light refreshments and plant sales in aid of the Albrighton Trust.
The ever-popular garden at Edge Villa, at Edge nr Yockleton will open on Sunday 10th April between 2 and 5 pm.
Two acres nestling in the South Shropshire hills.  Large herbaceous borders, dew pond surrounded by purple elder, irises, candelabra primulas and dieramas.
Wheelchair access; some gravel paths.  Home made teas and plant sales.
We look forward to welcoming old friends and new to our wonderful collection of gardens open in aid of the National Garden Scheme, raising funds for the caring charities we support.  Children are admitted for free to all Shropshire gardens, an ideal day out for all the family.
