Dear Blogger
Message from Whittington Music Festival
Spring is here and we're getting excited as the preparations for this year's Festival are gathering pace. | | | Sponsors Perspective (West) Ltd, a firm of financial advisors in Oswestry, has kindly sponsored the final concert. Here is a photo of Jude Greaves, our chair, receiving the large cheque from Oliver Davies, one of their advisors, who has recently become a trustee of the Festival. We are extremely grateful to all our kind sponsors and donors. | | | Friends' Reception There will be a reception for Friends, Sponsors and Benefactors after the Sunday afternoon concert at 5pm in the garden of Church House, just next door to the church. Another good reason to become a Friend! | | | Car Parking The Castle parking now costs £2 for 24 hours and concessions for Festival Pass holders are no longer available. The system uses number plate recognition so be sure that you pay at the machine (by card). As the cafe has been closed it is no longer possible to pay by cash, but if the machine is not working you can pay by phone, online or using the RingGo app. You risk a £100 fine if you don't pay! There is free parking near the Three Trees shop. | | | Preconcert Meals Both the Olde Boote and the White Lion will be serving food before the concerts. If you have a meal or drink at either of the pubs you will be able to leave your car there during the concert. Booking is advised. | | | Cantiones this Saturday Rehearsals have been going really well for Cantiones next concert this Saturday 12 April, 3.30 at Christ Church, Oswestry. The programme of music by Mozart is his Coronation Mass, Solemn Vespers and Exultate Jubilate with Natasha Hendrickse-Welsh (soprano) and Joen Martin (tenor) as soloists. This will be Cantiones first concert under their new conductor Tony Coupe. | | | | |
