LOST - can you help?

I may have dropped my long black ribbed Per Una Marks & Spencers cardigan outside when I got out of the car, or left it inside,  when I went to the Ruyton History Group Christmas meeting (Wednesday 12th December). Did anyone find it?

Please contact me in the first instance and I will pass any information on to Zia Robins.

Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year

For anyone on the mailing list who is checking their mail at 9.15pm on Christmas Eve, a very Happy Christmas to you.   Sorry to be so late but it is a tad busy for the cook on the day before Christmas!

For those of you who will not be checking your email until next week, here`s wishing you all the very best for 2013.

Many thanks to those who, over the last year, have indicated that they find the mailing list useful - I hope it continues to be so.

I would love to hear about new start up businesses, lost cats, items found, blocked footpaths, who has a new book being published, any and all ideas for community events or anything else you can think of.

There are now 145 addresses on the mailing list  in Ruyton and the XI Towns, Baschurch, the Nesses and Weston Lullingfields so there are STACKS more people who could be included.

I do my bit sending out the news - can you do your bit by adding a friend or neighbour to the list??

Many thanks,

All the best for next year,

Cheers, Yoland

2012 Highlights

While 2012 will be remembered as the year of the London Olympics / Paraolympics and the Queen's Jubilee, we can also look back  on some highlights of our own. From being named as one of the 50 Best Bookshops in the Country by the Independent, to the size of the queue for the Julia Donaldson book signing, to some great events with the likes of Peter James, Kate Morton, Tony Robinson and Mark Forsyth and our 3rd Birthday Crime Night, to continuing to work closely with schools, the Library and the Lit Fest team, 2012 has been a memorable year. We are so grateful for the support of our customers which makes what we do all worthwhile - so we end 2012 with a big, big thank you from us.

Ruyton & Baschurch AgeUK lunch

The Ruyton & Baschurch AgeUK Lunch Club enjoyed a SUPER Christmas Lunch
at the Talbot Inn yesterday.

And this was no mean feat - the Pub was without mains electricity from
10:00am to 4:00pm due to essential maintenance work - potentially
wrecking the chance of a hot lunch!

But with a bit of frantic phoning around last week, Scottish Power
agreed to send a generator to power the Pub and crucially, the kitchen.

So about 36 Club Members enjoyed a really festive Lunch in the usual
friendly atmosphere - absolutely wonderful - we didn't even notice that
we were on generator power.

Many thanks to the Team at the Pub (Keri, Kim, Tom and the rest) - not
just for yesterday, but for the other 11 lunches we have enjoyed this year.

And, of course, many thanks to Scottish Power and their suppliers for
rising to the challenge - we would have had to cancel the lunch without
their help.

Our next Lunch is Monday 21st January 2013 (always the third Monday of
the Month) 12:00 for 12:30 prompt start.

Anyone who wants to join us or find out more, call Colin Case - 260628
