Football Festival and Family Fun Day

North Shropshire College will be holding the Football Festival and Family Fun Day on Sunday 5th June 2016, in partnership with the Shropshire FA. It will be a fun filled day with a football tournament starting at 11am, stalls from local businesses, a tombola, refreshments, Scholars Pop-up restaurant. The event opens at 10am to 4pm will be raising money Severn Hospice in Memory of Geoff Farr, a former tutor at the College who is greatly missed.


NSC to Launch HE Prospectus

NSC is launching its first HE Prospectus, showing the real breadth of what the College has to offer. The College has, for a very long time, offered the Foundation Diploma and the BA(Hons) top-up in Sports Development and Coaching.

The College offers higher level technical qualifications in Business and Accounting, Motor Vehicle, Animal Management and Beauty. There is a wide range of qualifications in Wildlife and Countryside, from HND to Foundation Degree and BSc(Hons). Many of the HE courses at NSC are provided in partnership with Staffordshire University.

Access to HE courses are available to people who need the necessary entry qualifications to get onto the HE course they want, NSC offers Access to HE courses in five subjects:
  • Health
  • Humanities
  • Land-based
  • Science
  • Social Science

NSC Keen to Hear From Former Students

The College is keen to hear from former students who attended Oswestry or Walford campuses, whether you left a year ago or 20 years ago, we'd love you to get in touch! Be it employment, University or further training we want to know how NSC, WNSC, Oswestry College, Walford College or Shropshire Farm Institute helped you get there. Twilight Tasters

There will be Twilight Tasters in the coming months in three subject areas: Hairdressing, Electrical and Catering. The tasters are the perfect opportunity to see what life at the College is like and the wide variety of courses we offer. The Tasters are open to everyone and are happening on Tuesday 10th May and Tuesday 14th June, from 6pm until 7.30pm. I have lived in Ruyton XI Towns for over 10 yrs + my own dog/horses + running our own business.

Bodyshop at home at Cafe Eleven

This coming Wednesday, 27th April, Cafe eleven is hosting a Body Shop at Home event. There will be a representative in the cafe between 10am and 2pm with products to buy, samples and advice. For those who can't make the event there will be catalogues and order forms in the cafe for a while afterwards. A percentage of the sales will be donated to the MS Society. Two May gardens open for National Gardens Scheme

Millichope Park (Munslow, between Bridgnorth & Ludlow) will be open for Shropshire NGS on Sunday 1st May (2-5pm): 14 acres of lakes, 18th century cascades, swathes of bluebells, woodland walks (dogs welcome) and chance to see the restoration of the unique walled garden and glasshouses.  Also home to Bouts Violas nursery. Admission: £5 for adults, free for children.  Teas available.

Also open on Sunday 1st May, Oteley, at Ellesmere, overlooking the Mere; 10 acres of rhododendrons, azaleas, sweeping lawns, specimen trees with fantastic views across the water.  Admission: £3 for adults, free for children. Teas available.

Visitors to National Gardens Scheme (NGS) gardens will have the satisfaction of knowing that their entrance fee is supporting valuable causes, as monies collected at the garden gate go to NGS beneficiary charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Hospices UK and the Carers Trust as well as many other vital nursing and caring charities
