See `The Iron Lady` at Loppington

Loppington is not that far away and surely worth while going to see another great film -

The Iron Lady (12a)

Tells the story of a woman who smashed through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated world. The story concerns power and the price that is paid for power, and is a surprising and insightful portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman.

Flicks in the Sticks has started again - what a great opportunity to see this very popular film  at Kinnerley Village Hall -  on our doorstep!

War Horse (12a)

From director Steven Spielberg comes War Horse, an epic adventure for audiences of all ages. Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets.

More scarecrows are needed for the

WEST FELTON SCARECROW HUNT

on Sunday 30 Sept!

The entries are coming in now thick and fast but we could do with some more! Remember you don't have to live in the village to enter a scarecrow ~ you can choose a spot in the village to put them e.g. Churchyard, Punch Bowl car park, school playground, Nursery Close green, by the village hall, attached to a lamp post!! Anywhere!!

They don't have to be too elaborate either! It costs nothing to enter and villagers you don't have to be at home (just leave your scarecrow in your garden/drive)

You can buy the maps from the school, on the day, anytime between 11.30am and 3pm ~ refreshments and hots dogs will be available.

Table tops will also be available at a cost of £3 each.

Any donations for the cake stall would be appreciated along with any second hand toys, games, CDs, DVDs also.

Join in the fun whilst raising money for West Felton School

Please drop me a line or phone by the middle of next week if you'd like to enter a scarecrow or would like more information.

Many thanks, Sam Chair of Friends of West Felton School

Reviive exhibition of upcycled furniture

Well, this is something completely different - I must go and find out what upcycled means!

REVIIVE EXHIBITION of new range of upcycled furniture
at Shrewsbury Market Hall Gallery - 11th to 29th September

Reviive has spent the last 12 months looking at how to develop a range of reused furniture.

Our designers select distinctive, well made yet out of fashion furniture, transforming them into unique individual pieces using artistic and imaginative style.

Reviive is now opening a new London store on Kew Green specifically to sell this range which we have quietly been producing over the last few months. We are tooling our workshops and bringing in a London based designer to help with our expansion and style development, Helen Edwards, who cut her teeth at Liberty's.

We really appreciate the Visual Arts Network for recognising this exciting new and now refined Upcycled Reviive technique!

*This press release has been issued on behalf of Reviive, any queries about its content should be addressed directly to Julie Hotchkiss on 01743 588458.
