Ruyton School featured in Shropshire Star and on line

Dear Blogger

Shropshire Star - Love Your School - Ruyton XI Towns St.John the Baptist Primary School https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/education/2025/09/29/we-learn-all-about-a-shropshire-school-planted-firmly-in-the-heart-of-its-village/

Yesterday, Monday 29th September, Our School had a big write up in the Shropshire Star and ShS on line

Headline - School planted firmly in the heart of Village Community

It seems there are two acting head teachers, Kate Gregory and Katie Farmer, and the school is described as                              Modest in size but carries a big reputatyion for warmth, inclusivity, and dedication to its pupils` growth - academically, emotionally and socially.

The article mentions the Forest School, a quiet area and a `trim trail`?

A nice picture of the netball team jumping for joy in their bright damson coloured tops - I wonder if the children know about the importance of the damson crop to the village in times past.

It was lovely to read lots of things I did not know about our village school.

Best wishes to St. John the Baptist School

Halloween PumpkinFest at Park Hall Countryside Experience

Dear Blogger

Message from Farmer Richard at Park Hall Farm,

Pumpkinfest Opens from 3rd October!

3,500 pumpkins are on their way to Park Hall ready for our popular pumpkin event, where we have just the right amount of spooky for little visitors.

Pumpkinfest will be open on 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th, and 19th October and then daily between 24th October and 2nd November during half term.

Every paying child can pick a pumpkin from our large indoor pumpkin shed to be lovingly carved in the adjacent shed and taken home, and parents can enjoy leaving all the mess with us!

There will be Halloween activities around the farm, including the Pumpkin Alley, the Little Scare House, and a Spooky Trail. Our farm team will get hands-on, leading games of 'pass the pumpkin' and the 'mummy wrap'.

Access to the whole farm is included with tickets to Pumpkinfest. Whether you're exploring the Little Oswestry Role Play village indoors or taking in the fresh autumn air outside on the Crazy Farm Adventure Course, there's lots to do. Make sure you visit the animals, take a tractor ride and cheer on the racing pigs too.

Tickets are £2 cheaper when you book them online in advance.
