Some WF residents received a letter, as per attached, together with a copy of Nat Grid’s PROJECT NEWS setting out the preferred route for the mid-Wales connection.

 

However, it seems that not every household received it, nor have they received notification from National Grid of the public information event to be held in West Felton Village hall on Wednesday 15^th August, from 2 to 8pm.

 

Make your voices heard – call in and tell them what you think of their plans.

Llanymynech Amateur Dramatic Society

Just a reminder that we will be having play readings on Monday 20 August
in the Defra room of the Village Hall at 7.30 p.m. We will be reading
extracts from "Curtain up on Murder" by Bettine Manktelow and "Murder
in Play" by Simon Brett, both comedy who dunnits. If anyone else has a
play they would like to bring along please feel free to do so. There
will be refreshments so hope to see a vast crowd!

Longmynd 50 mile Hike - For West Felton Poppy Appeal

Lt Colonel Paul Macro, a serving officer and West Felton Branch member is taking part in this year's LongMynd50 competitive hike on the 6th/7th October 2012. The hike follows a set figure-of-eight route over the rugged countryside of South Shropshire and the Welsh Marches, with about 8,000 feet of climbing covering eight summits.

 

Paul’s chosen charity is the West Felton Poppy Appeal.

Shropshire Business Board seeks people’s views

The Shropshire Business Board, made up of committed volunteers from the county’s private businesses and organisations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses, is seeking views from local people about the future of the county’s economy as part of the process for developing a new Economic Growth Strategy. 

This strategy, which will set out the economic challenges and opportunities in Shropshire, is being developed in partnership with a whole range of organisations including the private, public, community and voluntary sectors.  Once finished, it will determine how resources are used to ensure that Shropshire’s economy is sustainable, and can expand and thrive up until 2026. 

People can give their views by completing the online survey or going into their local library or customer service point where someone will be able to help them to complete it.  The deadline for responses is Monday 10 September 2012. 

The final draft for publication will go before the Business Board in autumn for approval (incorporating any feedback from Shropshire Council’s Cabinet at their October 2012 meeting).  Feedback from this consultation will inform the final draft of the strategy due for publication in October.
