Help needed - Butterfly survey

Dear All,

We are carrying out habitat work between Ellesmere and Whixall Moss with the aim of expanding a very small population of the Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary butterfly.

In order to know if we have been successful over the next few years we need people who live in and explore the area who could identify it should it turn up a certain sites.

As a result we are organising some training and surveying this year and next year and are looking for volunteers to be involved.

Friday 23rd May – Training and visit to Llanymynech (the small pearl bordered fritillary flies earlier in the year here so we hope to see some)

June – Survey dates will be based on a night before weather report, the survey group will be kept informed as to most likely dates and then on standby for confirmation.

If you are interested in getting involved please get in touch so I can add your name to the mailing list. Please also make clear whether you can attend the Llanymynech visit on Friday 23rd May.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give,
