have received a few questions about the proposed events, so it is worth clarifying a few points:-
They are quite separate from our local School - they are Community Events rather than School Events. So children of an appropriate age are more than welcome to participate, accompanied as appropriate.
Likewise the Creative Writing is available to all children in our Community, regardless of which school they attend. In fact, it would be best if submissions didn't even mention a school. And it is up to you as parents and carers to decide if they should mention surnames and/or age - the submissions will be public for some time to come. Anonymous submissions are fine.
I have also been advised that some schools have banned Loom Bands. I am not sure why that would be - I would have thought it was obvious that they shouldn't be eaten or flicked at anyone - the same rules as any rubber band. It IS possible for a band to slip off the hook and snap back onto a finger - but that doesn't hurt or cause any damage - I have done it several times while making my first one.
