Dear Mr Riches,
Your email has been forwarded to me as I am the Case Officer for this application. I would like to take this opportunity to respond to the questions you have raised in your email.
1. Our neighbour consultation policy (which can be viewed online here; http://new.shropshire.gov.uk/planning/applications/the-application-process/           ) is that letters will be sent to all properties with a common boundary. As far as I can tell from the system Myddle House and Powis House do not share a boundary with the site so that's why they did not receive a letter, however it must have been an oversight to not select Kelliam House for a letter and I can only apologise for this. However as per the policy a site notice was also produced and we do this so to cover any neighbours that may have been missed off, and thus included as part of the consultation.
2. I have had discussions with the applicant and can confirm the following is proposed to be served on site:
          ·                      Hot sandwiches (toasted paninis and tea cakes)
          ·                      Homemade soup in colder months
          ·                      Cold sandwiches
          ·                      Cakes
          ·                      Hot drinks (tea and coffee)
          ·                      Cold drinks (non-alcoholic)
It is not the intention of this application to create a takeaway or a café in the traditional sense of the word as food would merely be toasted/heated on site, not cooked. The applicant has stated that the intention is to create a tea room, providing a space for relaxation and to enjoy non-alcoholic drinks and snacks (as listed above). As far as possible the applicant wishes to use local or homemade produce.
4. It has been noted to me that the yearly Christmas tree is kindly gifted by the Gittins family. The applicant has confirmed that if the family still wish to provide the kind gift then she would be delighted for it to remain outside Memorial Hall for the foreseeable future.
I hope the above information is useful to you but if you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Eleanor
